Lemonade & Marigolds

Lemonade & Marigolds

Oil painting on canvas, white frame

22”x28"

I painted this on a Spring day outside on my back porch. I had a fresh plant of marigolds and a glass of lemonade I had made in my bee glass. The painting was created from life, giving it a spontaneous, clean feel. l really love this painting, it reminds me of Spring and the Summer days to come.

An expressive still life painting featuring a cluster of vibrant orange flowers with textured petals and rich green stems and leaves. The flowers are positioned on the left side of the composition, rendered with dynamic brushstrokes that give them a lively, almost three-dimensional quality. To the right, there is a glass container holding a beverage with a slice of lemon inside and one resting on the rim. The background is a soft, muted green that enhances the warm tones of the flowers and lemon, providing a harmonious contrast that brings the entire scene to life. The painterly style emphasizes bold color contrasts and textured details, creating an energetic and fresh visual experience.
